The Name
Why do Jews not say the name of God? and use 'G_d' in type? They interpret 'blasphemeth' as 'pronounce'.
Le 24:15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. Le 24:16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, [and] all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name [of the LORD], shall be put to death.
blaspheme 'naqab' נקב -
Jewish paganism... the use of God's name as an incantation.
Names have a powerful control over the one we name. Some say one’s name is the sweetest sound in the world. Thus, to say God’s name is to have control over the universe.
