ELTB TT Tree separated from the trees []

Ge 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Adam could eat, or learn from all the trees in the garden except one. It was an 'unclean tree'. God had many things from many trees that he wanted Adam to learn, but he didn't want Adam to learn the things that tree could teach. It was not a magic tree, nor a poisonous one. Being separated from the others, it was a symbol of God's holiness. Has your mother ever want to make a cherry pie? She washed some cherries told you not to eat them? Those cherries were being saved for a purpose.

The tree was called 'the tree of the knowledge of good and evil'. The word 'knowledge' da'ath דעת also means 'commandment ד()ת of the flesh ע', 'opinion דע of the purpose ת', or 'the command ד of time עת'. It also means 'cunning'.

Perhaps you have been told not to walk on the wet floor, so you slithered across thinking you were being cunning. Adam played word games like this in order to be disobedient. The same words can have different meanings. How you hear the words tells of your heart.
