Advent Dec 7 - Lk 1:31 []

± Lu 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

± Mt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Luke wrote after Matthew and dropped the reference to Emmanuel. the Greeks were not interested in the Hebrew Bible. He was named Yeshua, not Emmanuel. The Greeks did not understand how that would fulfill prophecy, so it became unimportant to teaching.

In Hebrew 'yahweh' יהוה is God, the IAM, the 'creator יof calamity הוה', the one who's 'thoughts י are not understood ה and words/works ו are not understood ה' and 'God יה of him ו not understood ה'.

If it is modified to יהוע it is 'God of him יהו in the flesh ע'. Now add a marriage or increase of the word ש in his heart: יהשוה it is now Yeshuah. 'God with a marriage in his heart'. It is "God with us' or Emmanuel.

When Matthew wrote, they connected the prophecy of Isa 7:14 with the virgin bearing a child. In teaching it, it caused confusion because they did not yet understand the formation of Words in Hebrew.
