The ''mem'' מ is formed by connecting a ''kof'' כ and a ''zayin'' ז at the top. It is a symbol that the Father arranged a marriage for the Son and chose his bride. <ref>Consider the story of how Abraham chose a bride for Isaac.</ref>

''Mem'' מים means ''water'' as does the word ''mee'' מי, and the Father is represented as the 'waters above the firmament' (to the right of the ''yod'').
