✝️ Jesus Became the Temptation We Desired[edit | edit source]

He didn’t sin—but He stood in the role of the sin we loved. He became the mirror of our desires—so they could be exposed and judged.

📖 James 1:14[edit | edit source]

“Each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.”

🧩 SP Application:[edit | edit source]

Temptation doesn’t come from outside—it comes from our own heart.

But Jesus, in the flesh, stood in front of Israel as their temptation:

  • He spoke with authority
  • He healed with power
  • He entered Jerusalem like a king
  • He let them dream of Rome’s defeat

They were drawn not by who He was—but by who they wanted Him to be.

🐉 He Became the Dragon They Loved[edit | edit source]

He became the conquering king they desired.

He placed their temptation right in front of them—not to deceive them,

but to bear their desire so it could be put to death.

This is the SP mystery:

Christ didn’t just die for our sins— He died wearing our most cherished false hopes.

🔥 The SP Pattern:[edit | edit source]

Symbol SP Fulfillment
Temptation from our own heart Jesus lets us see it in Him
False conquering king (Saul) Jesus wears it for a moment, then dies as David
Bronze serpent He takes the form of what must be judged
Lamb with seven horns True King, but with slain power, not conquest

🕊️ Final SP Summary:[edit | edit source]

Jesus was tempted in all ways—not by craving evil, but by being what we would have worshiped in His place.

He stood before Israel as the king they would sin to obtain,

so that He might die,

and rise as the King they would learn to love.
