Sum Let us make man in our image
Observe that God said similar things three times:
- God said he would make man in his image and likeness.
- He made man in his image.
- He made man and woman.
Are these redundant statements, or are they clues in the prophetic riddle?
A prophetic riddle is answered by New Testament doctrine.
Once the answer is known, the riddle can be solved.
- God said he would make mankind (man) in his image and likeness.
- God made the man (Jesus) in his image.
- He made the Christ and the bride.
