Samson
Jesus said all the scriptures speak of him. when he read of Samson, he did not see Samson, but himself. What did he see?
โธ ๐ Judges 13:2 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name [was] Manoah; and his wife [was] barren, and bare not.
- Zorah ืฆืจืขื - leper ืฆืจืข in hiding ื.
- leper ืฆืจืข - berth ืฆ()ืข revelation ืจ. Distress or enemy ืฆืจ of the flesh ืข. The righteousness exchanged for sin ืฆ with an emphasis on the evil ืจืข.
- Danites ืื ื - judges. Judge ืื creation ื.
- Manoah ืื ืื - rest. From ื Noah ื ืื.
At a time of great wickedness in Israel, God chose a man to give it rest, who was in the land of sin and was a judge. His wife is part of the 'Barren woman/virgin' pattern.
โธ ๐ Judges 13:3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou [art] barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
The woman is promised a child by God's intervention. This is a hint of being born of the Spirit and a prophecy of the Virgin Birth.
โธ ๐ Judges 13:4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean [thing]:
- wine 'yayin' ืืื - sym. grace. Creation x2 ืื heaven and earth followed by the death of the Son of Man ื.
- strong drink 'shekar' ืฉืืจ - wages. Sym. law. Hedging ืฉื revelation ืจ. Increase of the word ืฉ by the butting lamb ืืจ.
- unclean 'tame' ืืื - Sym. something you should not learn. Holy ื marriage ื promised by the Father ื. Riddle: Jesus was taking our sin before the cross and being made to be sin. His bride did not learn from him (they did not understand, believe and get saved). He was 'unclean'.
The son, from conception would not learn grace or law since he was the author of grace and law. He was born 'sinless' never having been exposed to 'unclean' things.
โธ ๐ Judges 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
- razor 'mowrah' ืืืจื - from the father ื clarifying ื soaking ืจื. Rid. A rebuke from the father by the word.
- head 'rosh' ืจืืฉ - Sym. authority. Discern ืจื the increase of the word (church).
- Nazarite 'naziyr' ื ืืืจ - separate. Son of man's ื bride ื made holy ืืจ (light). Rid. The Son imputes righteousness.
He will receive no rebuke from his Father ("My son in whom I am well pleased"). And will purify his bride by his separation.
โธ ๐ Judges 13:6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance [was] like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he [was], neither told he me his name:
An angel came to Mary, one like an angel came to Samson's mother, 'Nameless'. Neither woman asked where the angel was from nor his name.
โธ ๐ Judges 13:7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean [thing]: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.
