Here's a comparison chart of Christianity and Mormonism on the specified topics:

Topic Christianity (Historic) Mormonism (LDS)
Trinity One God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal, coeternal, and of the same essence. Three separate beings: God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. They are "one in purpose" but not in essence.
Father God the Father is uncreated, eternal, and spirit (John 4:24). He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. God the Father (Heavenly Father) has a physical body of flesh and bone. He was once a man who progressed to godhood.
Son (Jesus Christ) Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity, coequal and coeternal with the Father. He became incarnate, fully God and fully man, to redeem humanity. Jesus is the firstborn spirit child of Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. He is a separate being from the Father but was chosen as Savior in the pre-mortal existence.
Holy Ghost The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, fully God, coequal with the Father and Son. He is a spirit and does not have a body. The Holy Ghost is a separate being from the Father and Son, a spirit personage who reveals truth and guides believers.
Gospel Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Good works are the fruit of salvation, not the means of earning it. The gospel includes faith in Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring in good works. Salvation includes different levels of heaven, with exaltation requiring temple ordinances and obedience.
