Funeral

Here’s all the info friends/family: JIMMY BATES CELEBRATION OF LIFE MEMORIAL SERVICE Sunday, March 30, 2025, 2 P.M. We are so looking forward to gathering with everyone from our Young Americans "family" to celebrate Jimmy's life. Judy and their kids, Erin and Robert, are grateful that the response to this event has been so overwhelming, and it will be a special joy for all of us to be together again to honor our choreographer and friend. The service will be held at: St. Michael's by the Sea Church 2775 Carlsbad Blvd. Carlsbad, CA. 92006

Rehearsal:  12:00 Noon on Sunday (NOT Saturday!), at the church.  

If you couldn't get a copy of the music, please text me at 213 305-9657, let me know what part you sang, and I'll text it to you. Parking: We are told it may be an issue, so please come early in case you need to search a bit for street parking. Requested dress: Jimmy wanted this service to be a true celebration, so please wear Hawaiian shirts/clothing, or fan gear from his beloved USC, if possible. Offering for the church: We will be "passing the hat" for whatever small donation you can give (requested only, no one should feel obligated) that will allow us to make an offering to the church. After the service: We'll all meet afterward at the Mexican restaurant, Norte’s, just down the street from the church so that we can meet Judy, Erin and Robert, and express our condolences in person. If you can't attend: go to Jim Bates' page on Facebook. You can post notes or pictures there, and Judy will be able to see what you post. Finally: PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT! Not everyone is on Facebook, so please share with all those you're still in touch with -- we want everyone to have the opportunity to join us. I'm putting together a complete list of everyone who is planning to attend, so please, if you haven't already, let me know you're coming.
