People argue about 'elohim', some thinking it is singular and some thinking it is plural. When we are doubt about the meaning of a word, we can tear it apart.
God 'elohim' אלהים is 'God אל separated from man ים (creation י finished by the Son ם) by ignorance ה'. His name tells us that he just wants to be known. He is not looking to squish you every time you turn around. He wants you to learn about him.
This is important; your sin is not at the forefront of God's mind. He took care of that on the cross. Your willful ignorance of him is what separates you now. From before the beginning the Lamb was slain... he took care of it even before creation. You didn't surprise him.
