Proposed Creed Inspired by Biblical Themes and Sensus Plenior Principles
We believe
- That the Son of God humbled Himself unto death, even death on a cross, that we might live in Him. Philippians 2:8, Galatians 2:20
- That He bore our sins in His own body, taking upon Himself our transgressions, that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5
- That while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, demonstrating the infinite love of God. Romans 5:8, John 3:16
- That His cry, “It is finished,” marked the completion of the atoning work, fulfilling the divine plan of redemption. John 19:30, Hebrews 9:12
- That He surrendered His spirit, willingly laying down His life as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Matthew 27:50, John 1:29
- That He was buried, and on the third day, He rose from the grave, triumphing over death and securing eternal life for those who believe in Him. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 6:9
- That through His resurrection, He leads us from death to life, from sin to righteousness, and from darkness to His glorious light. Colossians 1:13-14, 2 Timothy 1:10
- That all prophecy concerning Him has been fulfilled, and His work is complete, calling all to enter into His rest. Luke 24:44, Hebrews 4:9-10
