Creeds ן []

  1. The Nicene Creed (AD 325, revised 381)
    • Affirms Christ's incarnation, death, resurrection, and exaltation.
    • States that He "came down from heaven" (humiliation) and was "crucified... suffered and was buried" (final Nun, ן).
    • Declares that He "rose again on the third day" and is "seated at the right hand of the Father" (restoration to divine glory, Son of God).
  2. The Chalcedonian Definition (AD 451)
    • Emphasizes Christ’s dual nature: truly God and truly man.
    • Affirms His humility in the incarnation and suffering but also His exaltation after the resurrection.
  3. The Apostles’ Creed (developed by AD 8th century)
    • Declares that Jesus "descended into hell" (His humiliation) and "on the third day rose again" (His restoration).
    • Emphasizes His current exaltation: "seated at the right hand of God."
