Creed ב
The Nicene Creed and Apostles' Creed both summarize this theme of God revealing Himself to humanity, but the Chalcedonian Definition and Westminster Confession go further in emphasizing how God ultimately reveals Himself through Christ.
- Nicene Creed (A.D. 325, revised in 381) "We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God... God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God... Through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation, He came down from heaven..."
- This expresses that God reveals Himself through Jesus, His Word, and His actions.
- Apostles' Creed "I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord..."
- This affirms that God reveals Himself not only through creation but also through Christ.
- Chalcedonian Definition (A.D. 451)
- This creed emphasizes the full revelation of God in Christ, affirming that Jesus is truly God and truly man: "One and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-Begotten, to be acknowledged in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation."
- This directly aligns with John 1:14 (The Word became flesh and dwelt among us), showing how God fully reveals Himself in Jesus.
- Westminster Confession of Faith (A.D. 1646)
- Chapter 1 affirms that God reveals Himself through creation and Scripture: "Although the light of nature, and the works of creation and providence, do so far manifest the goodness, wisdom, and power of God... it pleased the Lord, at sundry times and in diverse manners, to reveal Himself, and to declare His will unto His church; and afterwards, for the better preserving and propagating of the truth, to commit the same wholly unto writing."
- This aligns with Psalm 19 and Romans 1:20, affirming that God reveals Himself through both nature and His Word.

- God reveals Himself through the Incarnation (Jesus) → John 1:14, Hebrews 1:1-2 → Nicene Creed, Chalcedonian Definition
- God’s revelation is beyond human understanding, yet He makes Himself known → Isaiah 55:8-9 → Westminster Confession
Creed of Revelation and Divine Disclosure (Bet ב)
We believe:
- That God reveals Himself to humanity, not through human effort or discovery, but by His own initiative and desire to be known. (Romans 1:20, John 1:14)
- That creation itself declares His glory, and through it, His eternal power and divine nature are made evident to all. (Psalm 19:1-2, Romans 1:20)
- That throughout history, God has spoken to mankind in many ways—through prophets, visions, and His mighty acts—leading to the fullness of revelation in His Son. (Hebrews 1:1-2, Isaiah 55:8-9)
- That the Bet (ב) signifies this divine revelation, as God makes Himself known by dwelling among His people. (John 1:14, Exodus 25:8)
- That Jesus, the incarnate Word, is the perfect and final revelation of God’s nature, character, and will. (Colossians 1:15-19, John 14:9)
- That His Word, given in Scripture, remains the faithful testimony of who He is, revealing His plan of redemption. (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:105)
- That the Spirit of God continues to reveal truth, guiding His people into deeper understanding. (John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:10-12)
- That God’s revelation is not only for knowledge but for relationship, calling us to respond in faith and communion with Him. (Jeremiah 9:23-24, John 17:3)
- That in Christ, we are invited into His presence, where the fullness of His revelation will one day be made complete. (1 Corinthians 13:12, Revelation 22:4-5)
- That those who receive His revelation are called to bear witness, declaring His truth to all nations. (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 4:6)
