Creed א []

The Nicene Creed sums up this belief well, particularly in its opening statement:

"We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible."

This aligns with the idea that God, through His Word, spoke creation into existence. Additionally, the Apostles' Creed echoes this foundational truth:

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth."

These creedal statements affirm God's role as the Creator, consistent with the Hebrew understanding of Aleph (א) representing God's act of speaking and bringing the heavens and the earth into being.

Creed of Creation and Divine Speech (Aleph א)

We believe:

  1. That God spoke and the heavens and the earth came into being, for His Word is the foundation of all creation. (Genesis 1:1-3, John 1:1-3)
  2. That He created by His wisdom, establishing all things according to His divine purpose. (Proverbs 3:19, Psalm 33:6)
  3. That His Word, revealed in the Law and Prophets, declares His sovereignty over all that is visible and invisible. (Isaiah 45:18, Colossians 1:16)
  4. That the Aleph א, the first letter of creation, signifies the breath of God’s command, bringing forth order from chaos. (Genesis 1:1-3)
  5. That God made mankind in His image, calling them to reflect His character and purpose in the world. (Genesis 1:26-27)
  6. That through sin, creation was subjected to futility, yet His Word remained the promise of restoration. (Romans 8:20-21)
  7. That in the fullness of time, the Word became flesh, revealing the glory of the Father and restoring what was lost. (John 1:14, Hebrews 1:3)
  8. That Jesus, the Alpha (Aleph) and Omega (Tav), is the completion of all God has spoken, reconciling all things through His finished work. (Revelation 1:8, Colossians 1:20)
  9. That creation groans for the final fulfillment of His Word, when He will make all things new. (Romans 8:22, Revelation 21:5)
  10. That in eternity, those who have heard and received His Word will dwell in the light of His presence forever. (John 5:24, Revelation 22:3-5)

Amen.

We Believe (In the Light of His Word)

(A Hymn in 70's Style)

Verse 1

In the beginning, God spoke His Word,

He called forth the heavens, the earth and the birds,

By His wisdom, He made all things right,

His divine purpose, shining bright.

Chorus

We believe, we believe in the Word,

That in the beginning, creation was heard.

We believe, we believe in His plan,

His Word is the foundation, for every man.

Verse 2

From Aleph to Tav, His breath did bring,

Order from chaos, His voice did sing,

In His image, we were made to be,

Reflecting His glory for all to see.

Chorus

We believe, we believe in the Word,

That through His promise, we’ve all been stirred.

We believe, we believe in His grace,

Restoring our hearts, to seek His face.

Bridge

Through the fall, we knew His pain,

But His Word remains, to break the chain.

In the fullness of time, His Word became flesh,

Revealing His glory, in Christ we are blessed.

Verse 3

Alpha and Omega, He is the One,

The work is completed, the battle is won.

Creation groans, but the promise is true,

He will make all things new!

Chorus

We believe, we believe in the Word,

That all will be restored, as we have heard.

We believe, we believe in His light,

Dwelling forever, in His pure sight.

Outro

Amen, amen, we stand and believe,

In the Word of the Father, we will receive.

Amen, amen, forever we’ll see,

In His presence, eternally free!
