✝️ SP Summary – Colossians 1:17[edit | edit source]

“And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”

🔍 “He is before all things”[edit | edit source]

This speaks not merely of time, but of origin, purpose, and position.

In SP:

  • Christ is the Aleph (א) — the first utterance, the spoken beginning.
  • All creation flows from the Word (דבר)—the command (ד) revealed to man (ב), and revealing (ר).
  • Before anything existed, there was only God—and the Son was with God and was God (John 1:1).

But God could not create outside of Himself—

So He opened a void within Himself

And spoke into it (ברא).

That act of speaking was the Son (בר) creating (א).

Therefore:

He is before all things because He is the space, the voice, and the reason behind creation itself.

🔗 “By him all things consist”[edit | edit source]

In Greek: συνέστηκενheld together, established, cohere.

In SP:

  • All things are suspended within Him—not as particles in space, but as words in breath, thoughts in mind, or members in a body.
  • He is the structure of meaning, the ordering of chaos, the sustainer of breath and form.

Even death, even the cross, holds because He holds it.

Creation is not autonomous—it is maintained by the living Word. If He were to withdraw His Word, everything would collapse into tohu and bohu—vanity and void.

🔁 Gospel Reflection:[edit | edit source]

He is not just the beginning

He is the breath still speaking, the glue still binding, the light still shining.

At the cross, He held all things together—even as He was unmade.

And from that death, He spoke again:

“Let there be light.”

🪧 In One Line:[edit | edit source]

Christ is the One before all, the voice in all, and the life holding all—creation lives because He still speaks.
