😺 Peter Says He Doesn't Know Jesus

But Jesus Already Knew It Would Happen...

Let’s explore the story of Peter, one of Jesus’ best friends. Peter said he would never leave Jesus... but that same night, he said three times that he didn’t even know Him!

Jesus knew this would happen. But He had a plan to forgive and restore Peter.

➊ What Does "Three Times" Mean?

In the Bible, the number three means complete in the Father, Son and Spirit.

  • Peter denied Jesus 3 times → that means total failure
  • Jesus was in the grave for 3 days → that means full victory
  • Jesus asked Peter 3 questions to bring him back → that means full forgiveness

🚶‍♂️ Peter’s Three Denials

Peter said:

  1. "I don't know Him!"
  2. "I'm not one of His followers!"
  3. "I don’t know what you're talking about!"

Then the rooster crowed, just like Jesus said it would.

Peter remembered... and he cried.

🐣 The Rooster Crows

The rooster crowing was like a wake-up alarm. Peter realized what he had done.

  • He had failed big time.
  • But Jesus still loved him.

The rooster was a reminder that even when we mess up, God calls us back.

✝️ Three Days of Waiting

Jesus died and was put in a tomb.

  • Day 1: Everything felt dark. God’s voice was heard in the silence.
  • Day 2: Jesus was gone. No one saw Him. We had to trust by faith.
  • Day 3: Jesus came back to life! Now we can see and walk with Him again.

❤️ Three Questions of Love

After Jesus rose again, He asked Peter three questions:

"Do you love Me?"

Each time Peter said yes, and Jesus replied:

  • "Feed my lambs"
  • "Take care of my sheep"
  • "Feed my sheep"

Jesus was saying:

"Peter, I still trust you! I still love you! I want you to take care of others!"

📖 What This Teaches Us

Peter:

  • Heard God’s voice
  • Saw Jesus face-to-face
  • Walked with Him again

He went from saying "I don’t know Him!" to becoming a leader who told everyone about Jesus!
