Hebrew: A Special Puzzle with Many Layers

Imagine Hebrew as a super-cool puzzle, like a crossword but with even more hidden layers! Each letter and word in Hebrew has special meanings, almost like a secret code. When we look closer, we can discover amazing things about God and His story.

The Pieces of the Puzzle:

1. Letters with Hidden Messages

Hebrew letters aren’t just shapes—they’re full of meaning! For example:

Yod (י) is like a tiny dot, representing the first thought God had to create. Every other letter starts with a yod, and so it is said that the yod contains everything that can be said, and since words were used to create; everything that was made.
Vav (ו) looks like a straight line and stands for the word as a 'sword'; like the word 'and', it links together and contrasts. As the the sword or the word; it distinguishes things.

Together, these letters make up parts of other letters, and their shapes add extra clues to the puzzle!

2. Words Built from Letters

Every Hebrew word is like a puzzle piece made of smaller pieces (the letters). Each letter adds its own meaning, like how in a crossword, clues and answers fit together.

Example: The Word “Bereshith” (בראשית) This is the first word in the Bible and means “In the beginning.” But when we look closer, it’s like opening a treasure chest:

Breaking it apart:
“Bara” means “created.”
“Shith” means “six.”
This shows how God created the world in six days!
Looking at the letters:
Bet (ב): God revealed something amazing to man.
Resh (ר): It’s being made known.
Aleph (א): God Himself spoke and created the heavens and the earth.
Shin (ש): His Word brings increase; a new life joined to Christ.
Yod (י): Creation.
Tav (ת): Was finished when his revelation gave new life.

So, this one word shows us how God created everything with a purpose!
