אב (Father) represents the source and the initiator. It is the role of the father as the beginning, the one who creates or brings life.
אבת (Avat), on the other hand, represents the fulfillment ת of being a father. It is not just the father as an origin or source, but the completion of that role—giving life. אבת symbolizes acting as a father and fully embodying the role and responsibilities of fatherhood.
In short, אב is the father in his essence, while אבת is the fulfillment or expression of that role in action.
