The talk - Introduction []

Discussion

"The Talk" is our "Hello World" of theology. We use a First Century interpretive method that we believe was used by Jesus and the New Testament authors. It is unfamiliar to churches descended from the Greek Nicolaitan church since they decided that the Septuagint, a Greek translation, was more authoritative than the original Hebrew texts.

This is a conversational introduction to some conclusions which have been derived using the method. I hope you are blessed by them, encouraged to look at the Bible fresh, and see God in a new light.

Before the beginning

Only God

Before the universe sprang into existence at the sound of God's voice [1], there was only God.

There was nothing outside of God, because there was nothing bigger than God [2] [3] [4]; no void, and no vacuum of space. [5]

  1. Ten commandments of creation
  2. ± 1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
  3. ± 2Ch 2:6 But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who [am] I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?
  4. ± 2Ch 6:18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!
  5. If God is everywhere, then there is no place which is totally empty. ± Ps 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou [art] there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou [art there].

In darkness

He dwelt in darkness. The word 'darkness' khaw-sak חשך means 'restrained, reserved, hide, obscure, conceal'. It is a symbol of love. If you are in sin, and not getting hit by lightning, you are receiving the grace, love, patience, long-suffering of God. He is restraining himself from destroying you; covering your sin. Jesus said to stop presuming upon the grace of God and be Holy. [1]

  1. ± Joh 8:12 ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

God created language

Before God could say, "Let there be light" he had to have an alphabet and words. He made a language unlike any other. [1] Words get their meaning from the meaning of the letters, and letters get their meaning from the strokes within the letters. The meaning cannot be fully discerned until after the revelation of Christ 4000 years later.

The Hebrew alphabet is a message of Christ created 4000 years before Christ. Each jot (yod י) and tittle or horn (vav ו) speaks of Christ. Many mock the idea without having examined it. This alone is a proof of God.

If a book purported to be written in 2000 B.C. and it said that a man had "met his Waterloo", it would be discarded as a fraud. The phase had no meaning until it became a metaphor for Napolean's great loss many years later. Yet the defining events for the metaphor of the Hebrew letters happened 4000 years after the language was invented, and we know that there is no fraud since they are accurately preserved. [2]

Wicked men observe that God expressed his power in words, but attribute the power to the words rather than to God. They claim that if you learn the word with it's power, you can control the thing. In novels concerning magic, the wizard learns the ancient word for fire in order to control fire. The Rabbis teach that by learning the words of creation one can nullify the works of God. [3] The words do not have power. God does. The enemies of God would deceive many with the promise of power which they can never have.

  1. There were no other languages. All others are cheap imitations forged at Babel.
  2. See the Dead Sea Scrolls
  3. They 'legitimize' the idea by saying that a Father is proud of his son when the son exceeds the Father's ability.

His unspeakable name

His name was something like 'ee-oo-ee'. Spelled yod-vav-yod. It is hidden in the aleph א. It is the name of God which cannot be pronounced (this is a riddle). The aleph is a silent letter, so his hidden name is also silent.

The idea that one takes dominion over something by naming it is Biblical in it's source. Adam was given dominion over the animals and named them. [1] God's name is hidden because no one can have dominion over him. The name Yaweh יהוה is not a name that he has forbidden us to speak. It is the name he gave Moses and told him to use it.[2] The two names sound similar.

  1. ± Ge 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.
  2. ± Ex 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Discussion

Hidden light

His name 'Elohim' has a pun 'alo khoom' [1] meaning 'not dark', so John says he was the Light. [2] Light is a symbol of holiness, which is expressed by separation. God is Holy. He is different from us. He is separate. Before creation, there was no one to be separate from. The Trinity was in in perfect harmony. As soon as he created, he was separate from his creation. He declared "Let there be light" [3] as a way in symbol to say "I am holy!".

  1. אלהים÷אלחום
  2. Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
  3. Ge 1:3 ¶ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
God was not understood

His name, Elohim אלהים , means 'God אל separated from man [1] by ignorance ה'. In contrast, Israel ‏ישראל means 'man יש joined to God אל by revelation ר. How could he know God? he was just created.

'God' אל means 'the creator א taught ל. [2]

The lesson of holiness

For the first lesson of who God is, one tree was set aside in the garden as a symbol of holiness. Adam was told not to eat of it simply because it was a symbol of holiness. Since eating is a metaphor for learning, God was saying that you cannot learn holiness in your own ability. God must show it to you.

The deception

James says that when you are tempted, you are tempted by your own heart. The serpent was not the first to tempt Eve. It says that the serpent was more 'subtle' or clever than the other animals. The other animals were tempting her too, but they were not very subtle about it. Perhaps they ate the fruit and did not die. She thinks to herself, "They must not have died because they are animals, and I am not an animal."

Now the snake came along. Imagine watching a snake eat a fruit. His jaw unhinges in order to swallow it whole. You are sure it must die. Then the shape of the fruit travels down it's body. You are sure it will suffocate. But it doesn't die. Oh surely you won't die, Eve. You have blood and breath like animals. God made them. When they think something looks good to eat, they eat, and they glorify God in doing so since he made them that way. Doesn't it look good and smell good. It must be good to eat; all the animals do. Surely you won't die.

She was tempted by her own heart. The serpent could only present circumstances for her to observe. It was different for Adam. He was not deceived. [1]

Eve chose to live instinctively like an animal; allowing the flesh to define good and evil for itself, and Adam chose to make his own rules; to choose good and evil for himself. He had usurped God's position in defining good and evil. He violated the lesson of holiness. What was the penalty?

HE WAS NOT CURSED!

He was given another symbol of holiness;separation from God, by being placed outside the garden. The ground was cursed. Not Adam.

When Jesus hung on the cross he said, "Forgive them. they know not what they do." He was not just speaking about the Romans who were executing him, but of his bride, the church, which was represented by Eve, and was deceived by the flesh to define their own good and evil.

  1. 1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

The talk - Focus []

Discussion

The focus of scripture is not on God destroying sin; waiting to strike you dead with every bad thought. It is upon the Son, teaching of the invisible Father through his works, words, life, death, resurrection, and indwelling Spirit. The ONLY way to know the Father is through the Son. [1]

  1. ± Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
This will sound like heresy, so listen closely. Jesus did not die on the cross to save you from your sins. He died on the cross as the culmination of the revelation of the Father [1], making him known as both Holy and Love, and you happened to get saved in the process. It is about HIM, not YOU. If you think you are saved, but do not know the Father, then what is the purpose of being saved?
  1. ± Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
We know that if we have seen Jesus we have seen the Father. 'See' is a metaphor for 'understanding'. Here is the catch. The churches have different doctrines about Christ, yet they say they are all good enough. Doctrine is 'teaching'. They are saying that teaching about the Father is not so important! Yet Christ died to make the Father known. The word 'saved' ישע means 'his י flesh ע with the increase of the word ש in his heart' . The one who loves his teaching is saved. [1]
  1. ± Ps 1:2 But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
