Affect the Kidneys
These substances can impact kidney function, potentially causing harm or requiring caution:
- Acetaminophen – Can cause kidney damage with long-term or high-dose use.
- Alcohol – Can dehydrate and strain kidney function.
- Amlodipine – Can affect kidney function, especially in those with existing kidney disease.
- Aspirin – Long-term use can contribute to kidney damage.
- Berberine – May affect kidney function, particularly in those with existing kidney disease.
- Chlorthalidone – A diuretic that affects kidney function.
- Ibuprofen – Can cause kidney damage, especially with prolonged use.
- Olmesartan/Olmesartan Medoxomil – Can impact kidney function and potassium levels.
- Sildenafil (Viagra, Revatio) – Can affect kidney function, particularly in those with pre-existing conditions.
- Tadalafil – Similar to Sildenafil, can affect kidney function.
Can Cause Bloating & Water Retention
These substances may contribute to bloating, fluid retention, or edema:
