Summary []

God said all the swarming things represented things he doesn’t want us to learn or pass on to others. Then he gave a few exceptions: locust, bald locust, and beetle. They were exceptions because they jump into the air like some one leaping into the Spirit.

Using touching and carrying unclean things, he showed us things we should not learn. And he gave us a way to become clean again, through Jesus and the cross, represented by the evening. Every evening is a reminder that he forgives us and we start new.

The flying things that crawl on the ground, represent hypocites. They say one thing (that they fly), but they do another (crawl on the earth).

He used the leaping things to represent people who are sorry for the bad things they have done. They want to fly but keep falling.

Other animals listed do what the crowd does and don’t know any better.

We can learn these things the easy way or the hard way. The hard way would be to do the things that are wrong and face the consequences. The easy way is to learn them from God’s word.
