Abraham's only son []

Why was Isaac called Abraham's 'only' son, when Ishmael was older?

Some think that God did not recognize Ishmael as a son since he was born of a woman not his wife. They accuse God of being like Biden not recognizing his grand-daughter.

The word 'only' is 'yachidak' יחידך. It means life יחי commanded ד by the death of the Son of God ך .

Isaac was born by the command of God, and now he would live by it as well.

The scoffers accuse God of commanding Abraham to kill his son, but he told him that his son would continue to live by and through his commands.

The scoffers have never read scripture with understanding.

The confidence that Abraham had was not a blind belief, and neither should our belief be blind. Read scripture with understanding.
