God gets our attention with recapitulation of an idea in the OT. He clarifies it in Christ, then speaks to us. [1]
- God rested at the end of creation.
- Adam rested (slept) to obtain his bride (a new creation).
- God gave the garden a rest (from Adam) and Adam became a new creation
