Jesus is the Word, the Lamb and the Truth. You don't see the word-play in English
Word in Hebrew is אמר 'amar' Lamb in Hebrew is אמר 'emeer' But same letters as 'Word'
When John the Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God..." some heard him say, "Behold the Word of God..."
Truth in Hebrew is אמת 'emeth'
The rosh ר is revelation. The formation of the tov ת is a rosh ר with a vav ו returning on the left side. We say it is the revelation completed by a new life returning.
So 'truth' אמת is the Word אמר completed with a new life returning.
Truth is the Final Word. Jesus is the Truth; the final and incarnate Word.
The theology of the New Testament is hidden in the OT and the Hebrew language itself. If you don't know the OT source of a teaching, it is unlikely you understand it.
Jesuits complain that 'lamb' is Aramaic as if Aramaic isn't a derivative language of Hebrew. Why wouldn't they want you to know that the Word is the Lamb?
The relationship is like Spanish and Italian. They are obviously descended from the same source.
I call it Hebrew to keep things simple. What would we call proto-Spanish-Italian? In unpacking the prophetic riddle it makes no difference. The text is there as inspired by God. I don't think that he doesn't want us to make the connection between the Word and the Lamb.
I also choose to stick with the rules. This is an experiment to see what happens when we bypass 2000 years of scholars (many who were hostile to the word) and read it inductively.
I don't require that you do the same. I will continue to make the same error since most reading this won't care about that particular detail.
