Seek God's heart []

In the Greek/Gentile church we have been taught to debate issues. The debates never end, the measure of truth is how many followers one can gain.

But God had not left us to the mercy of the Greeks. He gave us his Spirit. The Hebrew letter qof ק has the meaning 'death and resurrection of the Son of God'. The right stroke appears in the 'lamed' ל. The lamed is the 'shared heart of teaching, and the core of the teaching is the cross'.

A friend properly exegeted ± Pr 25:22 properly as a blessing rather than a curse as so many do.

My friend has the foundation of interpretation, which is the shared heart of God by the Spirit of God. God would not teach us to love our enemy and then to torture him, as so many teach from this passage.

One who understands this by the Spirit would not accept such an interpretation and avoid teachers who cannot discern. Those who say that the coals torture your enemy display a lack of competency and ignorance of the heart of God. But not in my friend. The Spirit of God is the foundation for understanding scripture.

Please notice how he uses the OT and NT together. Find the OT source for NT teaching. This is what we are talking about when we say all NT teaching has an OT source.

As students, we seek first a knowledge of God's heart.
