Before God created Adam, he prepared the stage.
Light - Holiness
He didn't want Adam to see him create light, because Adam might think that God became holy. God has always been holy. He hid light in his name using a pun. []
Water - Word
He didn't want Adam to see him divide the waters. Adam might think that God changed his message of holiness and love. [] The waters above symbolize his attribute of holiness. The waters below represent his attribute of Love. [] The Holy Spirit would tell of God's Holiness. Jesus, the Word below, would tell of his Love. See Appendix: Move the mountain to the sea
Dry ground - flesh
He divided the dry ground from the waters before he created Adam. This is a symbol of the Word (water) becoming dry (made to be without the word). He wanted Adam to know that from the beginning, he had a plan to be a man and die. []
From light
He set the lights in the sky and gave them repeating motions. From the beginning, Adam would know to look for patterns. He would also know God chose him to reflect God's glory. []
From water
He created fish and birds from the water. Adam would know that his word produced two kinds of life. One that obeyed his command, and one that obeyed his spirit. [] See Appendix: Two 'lifes', two deaths
From dry ground
He then created the animals from the dry ground to represent people without the word of God. Even without the word of God; without any commands, Adam would know there were limits to what man could do. Finally, when the stage was set, he created Adam, to represents Christ. []
And it was very good.
The day that wasn't good
There is is one day that was not good. On the second day, God did not say that the division of the waters was good. Do you know why? See Appendix: Not good
