Observe that God said similar things three times:
:God said he would make man in his image and likeness.
:He made man in his image.
:He made man and woman.

Are these redundant statements, or are they clues in the [[prophetic riddle]]?

A prophetic riddle is answered by New Testament doctrine.

:[[Bride is made like Christ]]

Once the answer is known, the riddle can be solved.
:God said he would make mankind (man) in his image and likeness.
:God made the man (Jesus) in his image.
:He made the Christ and the bride.
