T-Ge 1:6-8
The Expanse Between Justice and Mercy
[edit]Doctrinal Reflection
[edit]On the second day, God divided the waters — establishing a space between justice above and mercy below. In this divine act, the firmament became a prophecy: the cross stretched between heaven and earth, revealing the harmony of holiness and compassion in Christ.
Gospel Declaration
[edit]When the Word said, “Let there be an expanse,” He was not merely forming the skies — He was declaring the covenant balance of God’s nature. Justice was upheld in the heavens; mercy flowed upon the earth. Between them stood the Living Word, the Mediator, suspending both in perfect unity.
Explanatory Body Content
[edit]The waters above represent God’s eternal justice — pure, unbending, radiant in holiness. They belong to the unapproachable light of His throne.
The waters below signify His mercy — patient, gentle, washing the dust of man.
Between them, God set the firmament — the stretched space of the Word, who would later hang upon the cross, arms open between heaven and earth.
Thus, creation itself preaches redemption. The firmament is the body of Christ extended between divine justice and human mercy, reconciling both in Himself.
Evening and morning mark the rhythm of this reconciliation — judgment giving way to grace, and grace rising toward glory.

[edit]Stand within the expanse — where justice and mercy meet.
Look upward to the heavens that declare His righteousness,
and downward to the mercy that covers the earth.
In Christ, both are one. ✝️
