Ge 1:1 - 2:5 Literal []

This pericope was signed [1] ± Ge 2:4,5 ¶ These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground.

The end of the account is usually considered to be 2:4, which unnecessarily creates an apparent contradiction of two creation accounts.[2]

  2. Sk: Ge 1 Two creations [] Skeptics claim that two creation accounts differ. This is a Balaamism. They compare Ge 1:1-2:3 with Ge 2:4-25. Unfortunately, they have not divided the scriptures properly. The first account ends with 2:5 and the second begins with 2:6. Tablets.jpg Missing creation [] Others claim that there was another creation between verses 1 and 2. The pericope is complete with v1 being the introduction and the summary. Claimants must presume that verses are just a random collection of facts. The structure says the facts are intentional with an introduction to the body (v1); then details concerning the subject; ending with a summary repeating the introduction, as a bookend.. They have used myth and oral tradition to shed doubt on God's word. This is a Balaamism.
