The Bible is written as two books. "Two books" does not refer to the Old and New Testaments, but to the literal record and the "mystery hidden from the beginning" within it.[1]

Normally we say that the Bible has 66 books. This refers to writings by men. When scholars read the Bible, they attempt to interpret the human author's intent for writing.

The second book was written by God by embedding symbols of the cross in the literal writings of men. The meaning of the symbols was not made known until after the cross.

  1. ± 1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

We are like fish swimming in a stream. We do what we do while God, like the stream, nudges us where he wills. We are in him [1] [2] [3], and we do not see him.

His work is often so subtle we are unaware of his presence and nudging. [4]

Since we cannot see or hear him [5]; how can he make himself known?

He causes the fish to write a book about fish history. This is our literal Bible.

Within it he writes a second book; a mystery, hidden from the beginning.

He makes himself known through the mystery book in prophetic riddle. [6] [7]

  1. ± Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
  2. ± Pr 16:9 A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
  3. ± Ps 37:23 The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
  4. ± Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.
  5. ± Joh 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
  6. ± Mr 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all [these] things are done in parables:
  7. ± Eze 17:2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;

Discussion

God caused the fish to write a book about fish history; the literal Bible, and hid another book inside. [1][2][3]
He nudged them to write the hidden book, using childish riddles [4], using the same words as the literal history. [5] They were unaware of it. [6]
He told Israel that their literal history would be a proverb or parable to the nations. [7] Their literal history would write a second book.
  1. ± Lu 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
  2. ± Lu 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
  3. ± Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
  4. ± Ps 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
  5. ± Mr 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
  6. Some people refer to this hidden meaning as 'sensus plenior'
  7. ± De 28:37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

Jesus said that all Scripture speaks about Him. [1]

When the Bible mentions figures like Adam, Moses, or Noah, it’s ultimately pointing to Jesus. These are known as types and shadows, but recognizing them can sometimes feel like a guessing game. Yet, God didn’t preserve every word of Scripture just so people could invent their own interpretations. Instead, the Bible contains a deeper layer of meaning—a hidden message that only becomes fully clear in light of the cross. [2]

This site is dedicated to uncovering that hidden message by relying on the Holy Spirit, who inspired the Bible. [3][4]

  • The priesthood of the believer doesn’t mean everyone can interpret Scripture however they like. [5] Rather, it means believers are called to pray for and guide one another.
  • With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can see how all of Scripture reveals Jesus. [6] And this understanding isn’t meant to stay hidden—it should be clear enough to share and teach others. [7]

We invite you to ask questions, join the conversation, and as you grow, contribute your own insights or creations. Together, we form a fellowship of the mystery.

Apologies for any disorganization—you may find a mix of projects here. The wiki has proven to be a useful tool, keeping things in one place rather than scattered across the internet. (And of late, serves as my memory.)
