Aleph - the unspeakable name []

The aleph א contains the unspeakable name of God when broken down to a vav and yods: יוי ee-oo--ee, which sounds like Yahweh. It is unspeakable because the aleph is a silent letter. Yahweh is not unspeakable; it is the name God told Moses to use. [1]

  1. ± Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM יהוה: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
