The annunciation [โˆž] Template:Cth: Christmas

โ–ธ ยฑ Lu 1:26-38 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virginโ€™s name [was] Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, [thou that art] highly favoured, the Lord [is] with thee: blessed [art] thou among women. 29 And when she saw [him], she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. 38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Just as Gabriel's first announcement to Zacarias corresponded to the first vision he gave Daniel, so his second announcement corresponds to this one. Daniel names Gabriel as the same one from the previous vision. Gabriel tells Mary there was a first announcement to Elizabeth.

If we miss the connection to Daniel, we may presume that when Jesus 'returns again' he will conquer his enemies with violence. But Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

โ–ธ ยฑ Da 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart,๐š๐ง๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐š๐ง๐ฒ: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Jesus conquers his enemies by making them his friends.

Compare Mary and Tamar. They both wanted an assurance.

โ–ธ ยฑ Lu 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

โ–ธ ยฑ Ge 38:16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she [was] his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?

โ–ธ ยฑ Lu 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

  • Tamar received the rod and Mary told the power of God would over shadow her.
  • Tamar received the signet ring and Mary was told he would be called the son of the Most High.
  • Tamar received bracelets (to keep an empty vessel clean) and Mary was told it was a Holy thing within her.

Rein over the house of Jacob - Jacob and Israel are two names for the same guy. Jacob lost his inheritance when he forfeited all he possessed to Esau. Israel obtained the blessing and promise when Esau did not kill them all and gave them back. Jacob represents the national Israel and the flesh. Israel represents the true children of Abraham by faith. Jesus is the last king of national Israel (his reign is forever). Jesus is king over the flesh of the church, meaning that our flesh is ruled or 'trained in righteousness' by him.

A sign for Zacharias [โˆž]

โ–ธ ยฑ Lu 1:18-25 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings. 20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season. 21 And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple. 22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless. 23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house. 24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, 25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on [me], to take away my reproach among men.

This was not a curse! Too many try to divine meaning from this in order to teach that we should not test or tempt God. That is not what is happening.

Gabriel ื’ื‘ืจื™ืืœ - 'pursue ื› the revelation in the flesh and spirit ื‘ืจ is God in the flesh and spirit ื™ืืœ. Gabriel represents the Word. His purpose is to make known the mystery (Da 8:16)

He gives the same sign to Zacharias as the sign that is being fulfilled. He cannot speak until John. There is no word until John.

โ–ธ ยฑ Da 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told [is] true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it [shall be] for many days. John was the closing of the Old Testament (evening) and the beginning of the New (morning).

This is part of a doctrinal pattern.

God's name is Elohim 'God ืืœ separated from man ื™ื by ignorance; so he teaches us. This is foundational. It also means 'I ื for ืœ her ื” created all ื™ and finished it by the Son ื'. Creation was an act of love.

God being an angry god wanting to squish you is a doctrine of the Niclaitans 'conquerers of the laity'. They maintain control through their priesthood using fear and a promise of grace through their authority and ritual.

Suppose Zacharis had simply has a visitation, and he engages it and dialogs with it. It would violate the principle of verifying your sources.

โ–ธ ยฑ 1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Too may people 'hear' from God and have no validation, and are unashamed to declare that God has told them this or that. They justify their hubris when they impose an interpretation that Zacharias was being punished.

"How do I know it is you, Lord?" is a statement of trust in God and distrust of one's experience. Not every door opened was opened by God. Balaam had a nice open door for a new job serving a pagan king.

Abraham asked:

โ–ธ ยฑ Ge 15:8 And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

Jacob bargained:

โ–ธ ยฑ Ge 28:22 And this stone, which I have set [for] a pillar, shall be Godโ€™s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

Gideon tested:

โ–ธ ยฑ Jud 6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; [and] if the dew be on the fleece only, and [it be] dry upon all the earth [beside], then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

The child's father asked directly:

โ–ธ ยฑ Mr 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

If spiritual entities show up in your room, unlike some false prophets we know supposedly engaged them, we can just ignore them until God makes himself known in a verifiable way.

God declared that Zacharias was righteous:

โ–ธ ยฑ Lu 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

It was not a punishment, but a sign. The same sign as the prophetic pattern: There is no word until someone in particular speaks.
