Advent Dec 16 - Lk 2:4 []

± Lu 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. This was the home of Naomi and Ruth. It is where Boaz became the Redeemer Kinsman of Naomi and Ruth.

We talk about 'Federal Head ship' concerning Adam and Abraham. We were in Adam when he sinned, so we inherit original sin. Levi was in Abraham when he paid tithes to Melchizedek, so Melchizedek is greater than the Levitical priesthood.

Why don't we talk about being in Adam when he obtained the garment of skin? His sin was forgiven. Skin 'owr' עור is like light 'owr' אור and a symbol of imputed holiness.

Ruth was a Gentile, yet she was redeemed by Boaz. Her child, Obed, was 'in' Ruth. The whole line was 'redeemed' by Boaz, at least in symbols.

This appears to throw a monkey wrench into our systematic theologies until we remember that the Lamb was slain before the foundations of the earth.
