These are called "types," but figuring them out can sometimes feel like guessing games. God didn’t carefully protect every word in the Bible just to let people make up their own ideas about it. Instead, the Bible is written with a special layer of meaning—a kind of hidden message that only becomes clear after the cross. <ref>{{bgw| 1Co 2:7 }} But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: </ref>
