Together they picture “the word that guides.” Not surprisingly, אל in Scripture means both “God” (the ultimate Guide) and the preposition “to / toward.”
A voice calls, and the learner moves toward its teaching.

Narrative thread

- אליל — Imitation without life becomes an idol—guidance emptied of the guiding Voice.
- אלם — The true word may fall silent, buried like seed in promise.
- אלץ — When it breaks silence, it presses for the great exchange: our emptiness for His righteousness.
Every step keeps the original gate אל intact; each added consonant reveals another stage in the journey from living guidance to multiplied teaching, covenant oath, incarnate strength, counterfeit imitation, purposeful silence, and finally the pressing call to accept the righteous exchange.
