Dan 7:25
The changes in “times and law” are not a rebellion— they are the fulfillment of all ritual through the cross.
✨ Sensus Plenior Summary of Daniel 7:25 (with fulfillment)[edit | edit source]
“He will speak against the Most High, wear down the saints, and intend to change the times and the law…”
🔑 SP Principle:[edit | edit source]
Christ appears as the enemy, the Antichrist, the breaker of law,
but only so He can fulfill all things in Himself—
and through death, transform the bride by teaching.
🧩 The “He” — Christ bearing our rebellion[edit | edit source]
“He” is Christ, taking on the appearance of the enemy:
- Wearing sin (2 Cor 5:21)
- Condemned under the law (Gal 3:13)
- Judged by men as a blasphemer (John 10:33)
But what appears as rebellion is actually…
The fulfillment of the times
The completion of the law
The death of the old system
The beginning of the new bride
🕰 “He will change the times…”[edit | edit source]
Times (מוֹעֲדִים) = Appointed feasts = Ritual teaching = Christ
He does not abolish the feasts—
He becomes them.
Mo'ed (Appointed Time) | Fulfilled In Christ |
---|---|
Passover | He is the Lamb (1 Cor 5:7) |
Unleavened Bread | He is the sinless one buried |
Firstfruits | He is the firstborn from the dead (1 Cor 15:20) |
Pentecost | He is the Word poured out in the Spirit |
Trumpets / Atonement / Tabernacles | He is the return, the mercy seat, and the indwelling presence |
So yes—He changed the times, not by rebellion,
but by embodying their meaning, and removing the shadow.
“These are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is Christ.” — Col 2:17
📜 “He will change the law…”[edit | edit source]
Law (דָּת) = Instruction / Torah
He did not abolish Torah—He fulfilled it:
“I have not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.” — Matt 5:17
He is:
- The final sacrifice
- The living Sabbath
- The eternal High Priest
- The complete Torah made flesh
By dying, He ends the law of ritual
and replaces it with teaching by the Spirit (Jer 31:33, Heb 10:16)
He “changes” the law because He finishes it.
🧠 What seems like rebellion is actually fulfillment[edit | edit source]
To the world and the flesh-bride:
- He speaks against tradition
- He rejects ritual times
- He violates laws of clean and unclean
But through SP eyes, we see:
He is the true Teacher,
the true King,
who finishes the work and forms the bride.
🕊️ Final SP Summary of Daniel 7:25[edit | edit source]
Daniel 7:25 is a picture of Christ wearing the appearance of rebellion,
but in truth, He is fulfilling the appointed times and completing the law.
The saints are worn down by the breaking of their expectations, but through that breaking, they see the true King.
What looked like the enemy…
was the Groom, in disguise,
dying to fulfill every shadow,
so the bride could be taught by the Spirit.
Addendum: The False Image of Messiah[edit | edit source]
Christ in the flesh was not received as the true Messiah,
but as a false one—
the kind the flesh wanted:
a conqueror of Rome, not of sin.
A breaker of nations, not a bearer of burdens.
They saw in Him the king they expected, but missed the Groom who would die.
And so He fulfilled the riddle:
The true Messiah appears as the false one—
until the bride sees the cross and understands.
